Mr.Beast Has now the Most YouTube Subscribers
On Sunday, MrBeast overtook T-Series as the YouTuber with the most subscribers. Currently, he has slightly more subscribers than the Indian music label, with 266 million. The news was posted on social media by the 26-year-old, whose true name is James Stephen “Jimmy” Donaldson.
MrBeast celebrated the accomplishment by writing: “After 6 years, we have finally exacted revenge on Pewdiepie š„¹.” In his tweet, he acknowledged surpassing T-Series as the most subscribed YouTube channelāan accomplishment that Swedish creator PewDiePie was unable to accomplish.
Numerous people on social media congratulated Mr. Beast. “I’m sobbing and trembling right now, I can’t believe we made it,” a user commented on the former Twitter platform, X.
It’s incredible to see MrBeast achieve such a monumental milestone on YouTube! Surpassing T-Series to become the most subscribed YouTuber is no small feat, and it’s a testament to his dedication, creativity, and the support of his community. His acknowledgment of “avenging PewDiePie” adds an interesting layer to the achievement, given the friendly competition that has existed between PewDiePie and T-Series in the past. It’s clear that MrBeast’s impact on the platform is immense, and it’s no surprise that his achievement is being celebrated by fans and social media users alike.
Another said, “The most deserved YouTuber of all time.”
Earlier this week, MrBeast had discussed helping PewDiePie in his 2018 subscription war with T-Series. In a conversation with Jon Youshaei, he stated: “There was a slight “this country vs that country” aspect. It even became a little racist in the subwar prior, though I don’t think Felix took it that far. I’m not leaning into it too much because I’m extremely aware of it.”
He went on to discuss his concern that this could become a “India vs. America” argument.
It’s interesting to hear MrBeast reflect on the dynamics of the 2018 subscription war between PewDiePie and T-Series, especially concerning the potential for nationalistic sentiments to arise. His awareness of these issues and his reluctance to lean into them too much demonstrates a thoughtful approach to his content and the broader impact it can have.
Acknowledging the potential for divisive narratives based on nationality is important, especially in the global context of platforms like YouTube. By promoting unity and celebrating creators from all backgrounds, MrBeast continues to foster a positive and inclusive community on the platform.
